Starfish Project for Children Teen Board

 


SPFC’s Teen Board is our only Board of Directors. The Teen Board is made up of  teenaged students, exclusively from the various public and private high schools in our community. Teen Board members are selected based on a competitive application process. High school students serving on the Teen Board undertake Board responsibilities, participate in regular educational workshops and work collaboratively to advance SPFC’s mission.

At the end of a board member's term, the teen will earn a place on the Starfish Project For Children Honor Roll.


Primary responsibilities:  

  • spread the word about the work of the Starfish Project for Children

  • participate in educational workshops provided for the development of the Teen Board

  • work collaboratively to advance SPFC’s mission through individual school programs and cooperative programming for the community

  • help to conceive and plan a community service program targeted to elementary school children

  • select OOPS award winners

Requirements:

  • Board members are selected and asked to serve

  • Serve a term of 2 years

  • Attend 6 meetings per school year

Much of the work of the board will be accomplished at board meetings.
